How our WireGuard mesh connects every region

Every HostingSwift region is joined to the others by a private WireGuard mesh. If that sounds like jargon, the idea is simple: your machines can talk to each other across regions over an encrypted private network instead of the open internet.

WireGuard is a modern VPN protocol known for being small, fast and easy to audit. We use it to build stable point-to-point links between Chicago, Las Vegas and Kansas City.

For you, the practical benefits are threefold. First, cross-region service communication stays private and encrypted. Second, each node gets a stable private IP you can hard-code into configuration without fear of it changing. Third, because the mesh handles routing between regions, you do not need to expose internal services publicly just to let them communicate.
